Bloom's Take For high-resolution premium-sounding audio, the superiority of the craftsmanship, engineering, and cable terminations matter. AudioQuest has been the most significant cable supplier to the high-end specialist market for years. Their portfolio has sold in several thousand outlets in over sixty countries, and we feel they deliver excellent value and performance to maximize and highlight your listening experience. The Vodka Ethernet Cable represents our Ultimate Level upgrade for your network interconnect cables. |
RJ/E Vodka prepared Cat 7 Ethernet cables use solid 10% Silver conductors, which completely eliminate strand interaction, one of the biggest sources of distortion in cables, for clearer, more dynamic and involving sound. Superior conductor metals minimize distortion by having fewer grain boundaries and less impurities (such as oxides) at those boundaries. Solid high-density Polyethylene (PE) insulation helps maintain critical signal-pair geometry. All AudioQuest Ethernet cables honor the directionality inherent in all analog and digital audio cables; arrows on the jackets indicate the direction (from source to destination) for the best audio performance.
Over the past several years there's been a revolution in the way people store, distribute, and access digital media (in real time), including photos, movies, and, of course, music. No longer dependent on physical media, our media is often data that's moved from multiple devices to multiple locations. For audio applications and protocols, audio over Ethernet offers the virtues of high-speed, low time delay (latency), significant distance capability (328' without an active booster or repeater), and extremely low-jitter, bit-perfect communication. Who wouldn't want all of these things?

Solid conductors prevent electrical and magnetic strand-interaction. PSC+ Solid-Copper minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries and maximizes linear RF Noise-Dissipation.
The relationship between conductors defines a cable's most basic electrical values (capacitance and inductance). However, even when those variables are kept in reasonably neutral balance, the particular geometric relationship between conductors greatly affects the sound. Star-Quad geometry is not only vastly superior to conductors run in parallel, but also to the same conductors as two twisted pairs.
All insulation between two or more conductors is also a dielectric whose properties will affect the integrity of the signal. When the dielectric is unbiased, dielectric-involvement (absorption and non-linear release of energy) causes different amounts of time delay (phase shift) for different frequencies and energy levels, which is a real problem for very time-sensitive multi-octave audio. The inclusion of an RF Trap (developed for AudioQuest’s Niagara Series of power products), ensures that radio-frequency noise will not be induced into the signal conductors from the DBS field elements. (DBS, US Pat #s 7,126,055 & 7,872,195 B1)
This cable's negative conductors are covered with partially conductive Carbon-Loaded Polyethylene. This remarkable material reduces radio-frequency garbage being fed back into the amplifier. The sonic benefit is exactly the same reduction in "hash" and improved dimensionality that comes whenever RF interference is reduced in an audio circuit. In addition, a carbon layer damps interaction between positive and negative conductors, and an external Carbon-Based Noise-Dissipation System reduces external interference.
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. This cable, however, uses air-filled Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation on both conductors. Because air absorbs next to no energy and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile, Foamed-PE, with its high air content, causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials.
Use Rocket 88 as a full-range cable, with red (+) and black (-) conductors grouped together, or, when the speakers provide separate bass and treble inputs, further optimize system performance by bi-wiring.

This cable uses a carefully finessed combination of Long-Grain Copper (LGC) and extremely high-purity Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC). LGC has fewer oxides within the conducting material, less impurities, less grain boundaries and definitively better performance. The astonishingly smooth and pure PSC further eliminates harshness and greatly increases clarity.

In a conventional multi-strand cable, distortion caused by electrical and magnetic strand interaction is compounded as each strand changes position within the bundle. In an AQ Semi-Solid Concentric cable, strands within the bundle maintain their fixed relationships, significantly reducing distortion. Long-Grain Copper (LGC) allows a smoother and clearer sound than cables using regular OFHC (Oxygen-Free High-Conductivity) copper. LGC has fewer oxides within the conducting material, less impurities, less grain boundaries, and definitively better performance.
A typical speaker cable with parallel conductors has fairly high inductance, smearing energy across time, which results in sound that is dull and unfocused. In Rocket 11/22, the two conductors in each half of the cable are twisted around one another, providing lower inductance, greater clarity, and superior bass-to-treble frequency extension.
Use Rocket 11 as a full-range cable, with red (+) and black (-) conductors grouped together, or, when the speakers provide separate bass and treble inputs, further optimize system performance by bi-wiring.

Bloom's Take For high-quality, noise-free audio, the superiority of your interconnects are important, specifically how well they lower distortion & noise and deal with RFI properly. Electrical and magnetic interaction between cable strands is one of the greatest sources of distortion often causing harsh, dirty sound. Solid conductors, high-quality components, noise-dissipation technology, and rigid quality control are required to get it right. AudioQuest has been the most significant cable supplier to the high-end specialist market for years. Their portfolio has sold in several thousand outlets in over sixty countries, and we feel they deliver excellent value and performance to maximize and highlight your listening experience. The Red River line represents our Premium Level upgrade for your XLR Analog interconnects. Check out our Elite Level Mackenzie XLR Analog Interconnects. |

Since the beginning, AudioQuest has pioneered the use of superior metals, surprising even themselves by the huge leap in performance attained through the astonishingly smooth and pure surface of Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC). Proprietary metal-processing technology protects the wire's surface at every stage of drawing and fabrication. When high-purity low-oxide copper is kept as soft, pure, and smooth as possible, it becomes a wonderfully low-distortion conductor. In a conventional cable, electrical and magnetic interaction between strands is one of the greatest sources of distortion, often causing a somewhat harsh, dirty sound. Solid conductors are fundamental toward achieving a very clean, natural sound.
It's easy to accomplish 100% shield coverage. Preventing captured radio-frequency interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment's ground reference requires AQ's noise dissipation. Traditional shield systems typically absorb and then drain noise / RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical "reference" ground plane, which in turn causes a distortion of the signal. Noise dissipation "shields the shield," absorbing and reflecting most of this noise / RF energy before it reaches the layer attached to ground.
AQ's Triple-Balanced Geometry uses a separate ground-reference conductor, so the cable's shield is never used as an inferior conductor. Whether prepared with RCA or XLR plugs, the cable's 3 conductors ensure that the positive and negative signals have equally superior, low-distortion conducting paths.
This plug design allows for a connection devoid of solder, a common source of distortion. Instead of solder, the process employs a high-pressure technique. Because the ground shells are stamped instead of machined, the metal used can be chosen for low distortion instead of machinability.
AudioQuest PowerQuest 707 | 12 Outlet Power Conditioner

|
Bloom's Take If you're looking to unlock the full potential of your audio or video setup with cleaner sound, sharper visuals, and top-tier protection, AudioQuest's PQ 707 power conditioner is an excellent solution. Designed for high-performance, the 707 features 12 outlets with isolated zones, Transient Power Correction for current-starved components, and what AQ refers to as "non-sacrificial" surge protection to safeguard your gear without compromising presentation. Folks on the street consistently report enhanced clarity, tighter bass, richer details, and improved image quality across their gear. "Yeah, right... suuuuure..." Yep. We get the skepticism. "Over a grand for a power unit that makes big promises to change my life?" Curious, we picked up an EMI line noise analyzer to see how much noise is actually in our office and to see if the 707 is measurably getting rid of it. We were actually pretty shocked to see it go from a fairly noisy 190 millivolts peak-to-peak down to about 9!
"Ok, Ok. But does it change the sound?" We've tried a ton of AudioQuest, iFi and other cables and power gear, and most of them enhanced our experience to some degree (albeit, some marginally.) The PowerQuest 707 offered the most substantial boost in recent A/B testing, surprising us with how much quieter "quiet" can actually be along with details we never heard before. If you've got the budget, give AudioQuest a chance to satisfy your hunger for more with the PowerQuest 707. |

AudioQuest Perch | Premium Headphone Stand
Regular price $99.95 Save $-99.95
With its heavy base of die-cast zinc, tall strong steel frame, and curved eco-leather headband support, Perch provides an attractive, elegant, structurally sound foundation for any headphone, regardless of size, headband construction, or cable length.
Many popular headphone stands are designed in a way that causes the accompanying headphone to hang askew or forces the headband to open wide, thereby gradually misshaping the headpad and earpads, and placing undue tension on the headband. Over time, such headphone stands can actually harm their accompanying headphone, straining the important ergonomic elements that contribute to comfort and wearability. Perch, however, allows the headphone to rest naturally, evenly distributing its weight across the entire headpad, never placing stress on the band, and ultimately preserving the headphone’s structural integrity.
Further, unlike other designs that require the owner use two hands merely to place or remove headphones, Perch’s design allows for simple one-handed access.
Perch requires no assembly. Just add headphones.

AudioQuest’s award-winning NRG-X AC power cables were loved by many—experienced audiophiles and newcomers alike—for their unrivaled combination of performance and value. Compared to stock AC power cords or even premium cables at similar or higher prices, NRG-X cables have always delivered enhanced bass definition, improved transient articulation, greater soundstage scale, and more of the precious spatial cues that bring recorded music to life.
We are now delighted to offer the next generation of NRG-X AC cables, continuing the tradition of outstanding performance and exceptional value while complementing and enhancing today’s exciting electronics.
These new NRG-X Series power cables use Direction-Controlled Long-Grain Copper (LGC) in a Semi-Solid Concentric Topology—a sophisticated physical arrangement in which strands are packed more tightly and never change position within the bundle. Direction-Controlled LGC minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries that exist in any metal conductor, which in turn assures induced noise is dissipated and drained properly—as always, we direct noise where it will do the least harm to your system’s performance.
While the earlier X cables had 37 strands in three layers over the single center strand, the new X-Series power cables have only seven larger strands comprising just a single uniform layer over a center strand. This refinement may sound simple, but the improved result is delightfully clear.
In addition, the 3-pole NRG-X3 is available with C13 and C5 female ends to accommodate a wide range of today's new components.
Designed by AudioQuest to effectively lower noise in your audio/video system, our new X-Series power cables are true to music, allowing you to hear more of what’s on the recording. We invite you to experience the difference!

AudioQuest NRG Edison | Duplex Wall Outlet
Regular price $249.95 Save $-249.95
The AudioQuest NRG Edison Duplex Wall Outlet features a beryllium-copper base metal with polished high-tension surfaces and hanging-silver plating, providing significantly greater metal mass for optimal current delivery. This design ensures low impedance and effective power noise dissipation, contributing to improved sound and image quality. The outlet includes a duplex outlet, wall plate, and necessary hardware for installation.
This AC outlet is intended for single phase AC branch circuits ranging from 220 to 240 volts AC, with either a 50 or 60 Hertz sine wave frequency. If the branch circuit uses a 15 amp circuit breaker, it is appropriate to employ the NRG Edison 15. For a 20 amp service, use an NRG Edison 20. The service circuit breaker should be 20 amp rated with at least #12 AWG wiring or heavier (lower number) gauge.
Polished High-Tension Surfaces with Hanging-Silver Plating
Ensures the lowest distortion of any plated or clad material. It also efficiently transfers signal-masking radio frequency noise toward your utilities transformer and earth ground, far away from your sensitive components.
Significantly Greater Metal Mass for Optimum Current Delivery
No other AC outlet boasts such low impedance for optimum current delivery. This is not only limited to the receptacles' retention blades, but includes the critical ground, wire, and spade-lug connections.
Beryllium-Copper Base Metal
This metal provides superior gripping strength and long-lasting, low-impedance AC power connections. Typical materials such as brass, and high-purity copper aided by spring and wedge devices cannot equal the unparalleled retention strength of high-mass beryllium-copper.
Superior Radio-Frequency Noise-Dissipation
While other AC outlets may use plated materials inside the outlet, the critical ground-Noise-Dissipation is left to inferior distortion-causing steel, chrome, and nickel. AudioQuest’s NRG Edison outlets use high-conductivity silver over beryllium-copper contacts for superior radio-frequency noise-dissipation.
The AudioQuest NRG Edison 15 & 20 AC duplex outlet can accommodate up to #8 AWG wiring, although #10 or #12 may have superior properties versus #8 AWG wire in terms of Noise-Dissipation, that is, routing RF noise back to the electrical panel and ground rod-stake. This is due to skin effect at radio frequencies favoring thinner wire gauges, thus making noise reduction more efficient with a thinner wire gauge. This is an important consideration when optimizing your system with a dedicated line, that is, a discrete Line, Neutral, and Ground wire that travels back to your primary electrical panel without other AC outlets being daisy-chained or series connected to or from any of these wire leads.
The lower the wire resistance (using heavier wire-cable), the lower the AC impedance that is present at 50-60 Hz. This is an advantage for any power amplifier. However, it is equally true that providing optimal Noise-Dissipation (routing radio frequency noise away from your system’s delicate components), is more efficient with slightly smaller wire diameters. Whenever possible, solid core electrical grade AC wiring will yield superior results. We find that when a dedicated AC line is installed, #10 to #12 AWG wiring is the best compromise regardless of whether the branch circuit is meant for 15 or 20 amp operation.
A dedicated line may not be possible (nor is it absolutely necessary), particularly if the installation is in a rented, leased, or temporary space. Even with stock wiring of a 10 or 15 amp service, your system will benefit greatly from the installation of the NRG Edison AC duplex outlet.

Solid conductors prevent electrical and magnetic strand-interaction. PSC+ Solid-Copper minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries and maximizes linear RF Noise-Dissipation.
It's easy to accomplish 100% shield coverage. Preventing captured Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment's ground reference requires AQ's Noise-Dissipation System (NDS). Traditional shield systems typically absorb and then drain noise / RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical "reference" ground plane, which in turn causes a distortion of the signal. NDS's alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded synthetics "shield the shield," absorbing and reflecting most of this noise / RF energy before it reaches the layer attached to ground.
AQ's Triple-Balanced Geometry uses a separate ground-reference conductor, so the cable's shield is never used as an inferior conductor. Whether prepared with RCA or XLR plugs, the cable's three conductors ensure that the positive and negative signals have equally superior, low-distortion conducting paths.
This plug design, improving upon the Red River line with silver over pure purple copper which has improved conductivity, allows for a connection devoid of solder, a common source of distortion. Instead of solder, the process employs a high-pressure technique. Because the ground shells are stamped instead of machined, the metal used can be chosen for low distortion instead of machinability.
Hard-Cell Foam (HCF) Insulation ensures critical signal-pair geometry. Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Hard-Cell Foam Insulation is similar to the Foamed-PE used in our more affordable Bridges & Falls cables, and is nitrogen-injected to create air pockets. Because nitrogen (like air) does not absorb energy and therefore does not release any energy from or into the conductor, distortion is reduced. In addition, the stiffness of the material allows the cable's conductors to maintain a stable relationship along the cable's full length, producing a stable impedance character and further minimizing distortion.
AudioQuest Golden Gate Turntable | RCA Turntable Cable + Ground Wire
Regular price $169.95 Save $-169.95

AudioQuest's Golden Gate line is named after the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, once the longest suspension bridge in the world.
In AQ's Bridges & Falls series cables, you’ll find better metals and more sophisticated technologies including Air-Tube insulation, Dielectric-Bias System, and the Noise-Dissipation System at reasonable prices.
Note: All cables in the Bridges & Falls Series place their left and right channels in a single jacket, and feature an Asymmetrical Double-Balanced geometry with separate high-quality positive and negative conductors. This design allows for a thin, flexible, and uniquely versatile high-performance cable that can be terminated with a variety of today’s connections, including 3.5mm (male or female), DIN, and RCA. Keep in mind, however, that by necessity, the plugs on Bridges & Falls cables are fairly close together.
Solid Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) Conductors
Since the beginning, AudioQuest has pioneered the use of superior metals, yet even they were surprised by the huge leap in performance attained through the astonishingly smooth and pure surface of Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC).
Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation System
It's easy to accomplish 100% shield coverage. Preventing captured Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment's ground reference requires AQ's Noise-Dissipation System (NDS). Traditional shield systems typically absorb and then drain noise/RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical "reference" ground plane, which in turn causes a distortion of the signal. NDS "shields the shield," absorbing and reflecting most of this noise/RF energy before it reaches the layer attached to ground.
Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Because air absorbs next to no energy and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile, Foamed-PE, with its high air content, causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials.
Direction-Controlled Conductors
All drawn metal strands or conductors have a non-symmetrical, and therefore directional, grain structure. AudioQuest controls the resulting RF impedance variation so that noise is drained away from where it will cause distortion. The correct direction is determined by listening to every batch of metal conductors used in every AudioQuest audio cable. When applicable, arrows are clearly marked on the connectors to ensure superior sound quality. For most models of AQ cable, the arrows not only indicate the direction that optimizes metal-directionality as part of Noise-Dissipation, but also indicates non-symmetrical attachment of shield and GND in order to optimize full-system performance. A fundamental aspect of AudioQuest's multifaceted Noise-Dissipation technology, Direction-Controlled Conductors ensure induced noise is dissipated and drained properly.
Cold-Welded, Gold-Plated Terminations
This plug design allows for a connection devoid of solder, which is a common source of distortion. Instead of solder, the process employs a high-pressure technique. Because the ground shells are stamped instead of machined, the metal used can be chosen for low distortion instead of machinability.

Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry
Purpose designed for single-ended applications, Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry offers a relatively lower impedance on the ground for a richer, and more dynamic experience. While many single-ended cable designs use a single path for both the ground and the shield, Double-Balanced designs separate the two for cleaner, quieter performance.

Semi-Solid Concentric 0.5% Silver Conductors
Semi-Solid Conductors greatly reduce strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications, like USB audio and video. These signals, being such a high frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a 100% silver cable, but priced much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly cost effective way of manufacturing very high-quality USB cables.

Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) Conductors
Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) allows a smoother and clearer sound than cables using regular OFHC (Oxygen-Free High-Conductivity) copper. Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a major source of distortion. The surface quality is critical because a conductor can be considered as a rail-guide for both the electric fields within a conductor, and for the magnetic fields outside the conductor. LGC has fewer oxides within the conducting material, less impurities, less grain boundaries, and definitively better performance.

Bloom's Take If you need portability and ease-of-use above all else in an audiophile quality DAC, the DragonFly Cobalt is what you’re looking for. With the right mix of simplicity, extreme portability, and sound quality, the DragonFly Cobalt is a great tool to help you bring out the best in your music wherever you go. If you're looking for an OTG cable to use the DragonFly with your iPhone, we recommend ddHiFi's OTG lightning cable. |

DragonFly Cobalt, AQ's flagship DAC, takes what music lovers around the world have come to expect from the multi-award-winning DragonFly family—naturally beautiful, seductive sound—and strips away fuzz and fog that weren't even noticeable until Cobalt removed them.
How is this possible? Like the critically acclaimed DragonFly Red, Cobalt has the robust 2.1-volt output to drive almost any headphone, uses a bit-perfect digital volume control for outstanding signal-to-noise ratio, enables seamless compatibility with Apple and Android devices, and is an exceptionally competent and affordable MQA Renderer.
AudioQuest, Gordon Rankin: A Beautiful Partnership
Like all previous DragonFly models, Cobalt uses Gordon Rankin's precedent-setting StreamLength® asynchronous-transfer USB code. Further, in Gordon's monoClock® technology, a single ultra-low-jitter clock generated from the ESS ES9038Q2M DAC chip runs the ESS chip functions as well as all microcontroller functions. This superior clock enables DragonFly Cobalt to provide greater resolution and clarity than DACs with multiple clocks.
Why the "Slow Roll...?"
Cobalt employs ESS's new flagship ES9038Q2M DAC chip. While the chips used in DragonFlys Black and Red are unbeatable for the price, the minimum-phase slow roll-off filter in the 9038 results in naturally expressive sound that is always emotionally engaging and never fatiguing—a beautiful combination of warmth and detail that we find equally exciting and soothing.
Killing the Noise
In Cobalt, AQ took what was learned from their recent R&D in noise dissipation to employ power-supply filtering specifically designed to dramatically reduce the increasingly prevalent noise from WiFi, Bluetooth, and cellular signals. Successfully combating this noise is absolutely crucial to the preservation of the lowest-level musical details, particularly when it comes to high-res audio, and especially when applied to a portable-audio device such as DragonFly.
Bit-Perfect Volume Control and 2.1-Volt Output
Cobalt features the same ESS Sabre 9601 headphone amp and bit-perfect volume control that give DragonFly Red its unique combination of power and grip over the music. This solution ensures maximum fidelity, thrilling dynamic contrast, and excellent signal-to-noise ratio. The 2.1-volt output makes Cobalt and Red compatible with a wide range of headphones, including power-hungry, low-efficiency models.
Beautiful Sound in a Smaller Package...and now with a Tail
All this goodness is packed into a sleek new case that measures just 2.26" x 0.73" x 0.47" (57.5mm x 18.6mm x 11.9mm), making the latest DragonFly 10% smaller and even a bit more pocket-friendly. Finally, to easily accommodate the increasing number of electronic devices that feature USB-C ports, DragonFly Cobalt comes with AudioQuest's USB-A to USB-C adaptor.

The Cinnamon Ethernet Cable represents our Elite Level upgrade for your network interconnect cables. |
RJ/E Cinnamon-prepared Cat 7 Ethernet cables use solid 1.25% Silver conductors which completely eliminate strand interaction, one of the biggest sources of distortion in cables, for clearer, more dynamic and involving sound. Superior conductor metals minimize distortion by having fewer grain boundaries and less impurities (such as oxides) at those boundaries. Solid High-density Polyethylene (PE) insulation helps maintain critical signal-pair geometry. All AudioQuest Ethernet cables honor the directionality inherent in all analog and digital audio cables: arrows on the jackets indicate the direction (from source to destination) for the best audio performance.
Over the past several years, there's been a revolution in the way people store, distribute, and access digital media in real time, including photos, movies, and, of course, music. No longer dependent on physical media, our media is often data that's moved from multiple devices to multiple locations. For audio applications and protocols, audio-over-Ethernet offers the virtues of high-speed, low time delay (latency), significant distance capability (328' without an active booster or repeater), and extremely low-jitter, bit-perfect communication. Who wouldn't want all of these things?

The Carbon line represents our very best Ultimate Level upgrade for your USB digital signal cables. |
Audiophiles and music lovers know that soul-satisfying digital-audio playback requires the best digital-audio cables, and the best cables reduce the most noise and distortion. AudioQuest’s digital-audio cables employ proven techniques for minimizing noise and distortion: better metals, better geometry, better dielectric, Dielectric-Bias System (DBS), Noise-Dissipation, Direction-Controlled Conductors, and other ingredients needed for optimizing each specific application. AudioQuest's line of Carbon USB cables provide the best, durable high-definition upgrade to your digital audio.
For many applications, the speed of digital communication is important. Most visibly, “speed” is about transferring large files as quickly as possible, or carrying enough data for an HD video. For USB audio, “speed” is critical not because of how-much how-fast, but because time relationships within a digital stream are critical to the reconstruction of the analog waveform that brings information, music and joy to our ears. Time-based damage (jitter) to this information within the data package makes the sound small and flat instead of 3D, harsh and foggy instead of smooth and clear.
AudioQuest USB Type-C cables featuring conductor materials and construction techniques that have allowed AQ’s other USB cables to achieve “Best-In-Class” recognition worldwide.
With the newer USB Type-C connector quickly becoming commonplace on many devices, AQ’s line of Type-C equipped USB cables will allow users to connect with Type-C enabled devices such as MacBook, ChromeBook, Pixel, Galaxy Note 7, etc.
In addition, ALL of AudioQuest’s USB cables incorporate a newly developed strain-relief system to provide robust durability between the USB cable and plug.
Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications, like Hi-Res digital USB audio. These signals, being such a high frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but priced much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly cost effective way of manufacturing very high-quality cables.

Solid 1.25% Silver-plated Copper conductors: A superbly cost-effective way to maximize a video or digital cable, harsh and horrible for full-range audio, but like turning up the “sharpness” for a subwoofer, enhancing articulation and intelligibility.
Specifically designed for single-ended applications, double-balanced geometry offers a relatively lower impedance on the ground for a richer and more dynamic experience. While many single-ended cable designs use a single path for both the ground and the shield, double-balanced designs separate the two for cleaner, quieter performance.
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. AudioQuest, however, uses Polyethylene Air-tube insulation on both conductors, for increased geometry stabilization and improved clarity. Because air absorbs almost no energy and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile, Polyethylene Air-tube insulation, with its high air content, causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials.
It's easy to accomplish 100% shield coverage. Preventing captured (RFI) from modulating the equipment's ground reference requires AQ's Noise Dissipation System (NDS). Traditional shield systems typically absorb and then drain noise/RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical "reference" ground plane, which in turn causes a distortion of the signal. NDS's alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded synthetics "shield the shield," absorbing and reflecting most of this noise/RF energy before it reaches the layer attached to ground.
This plug design allows for a connection devoid of solder, which is a common source of distortion. Instead of solder, the process employs a high-pressure technique. Because the ground shells are stamped instead of machined, the metal used can be chosen for low distortion instead of machinability. The silver and copper combination maximizes the purity and conductance of the cable for optimal sound.

Solid Long-grain Copper allows a smoother and clearer sound than cables using regular OFHC (Oxygen-Free High-Conductivity) copper.
Identical positive (+) and negative (-) conductors prevent the shield from being used as an inferior audio conductor.
