All new LCD-5 units are bundled with the Audeze Premium Balanced 4-pin XLR cable. They also include an adapter for XLR to 6.3mm for use with single-ended headphone amplifiers.

Transparency, Resolution and Speed

The LCD-5 sets a new standard for accuracy using a new driver design with Audeze’s own patent-pending Parallel Uniforce voice coils and new magnet assembly. In 2016, Audeze was approached by researchers at the UCLA Semel Institute of Neuroscience and Human behavior along with the industrial designers at BoomBang for help designing a headphone to work inside MRI machines.

Tia

The tia system is comprised of three major elements: open balanced armature tia drivers, the tia single-bore design, and tia acoustic chambers. All our Custom In-Ear Monitors with tia feature two major elements of the tia system: the tia driver and the tia single-bore design.

Tia Driver
An open balanced armature speaker design for realistic resolution and transparency. By opening a balanced armature, the diaphragm becomes fully unobstructed, reducing resonance in the IEM and allowing sound to travel more naturally to the ear.

Tia Single Bore
A huge advancement in eliminating unwanted tube resonance. The large bore itself serves as a sound-shaping chamber and aids the tia high driver in delivering a linear and coherent frequency response. The short sound path provides remarkable high-frequency extension and smoothness. The large single bore also allows for easier maintenance.

Apex

Apex, or Air Pressure Exchange, is a pneumatically interactive vent that releases air pressure in a sealed in the ear canal. Apex comes in two variations, m15 (-15dB) and m20 (-20dB).

Alleviate Listener Fatigue
When you seal a miniature speaker in an ear canal, the air inside becomes trapped. Apex relieves this air pressure, allowing the eardrum to move naturally, so you can comfortably listen longer.

Extend The Soundstage
Freely moving air extends the soundstage and provides a more natural listening experience. It also preserves bass frequencies and helps the listener distinguish individual instruments.

Hear Your Audience
Custom in-ear monitors provide amazing isolation and help you hear your mix more clearly and at lower volumes than a wedge monitor or earbuds. LID

LID, or Linear Impedance Design, enables a consistent, reliable sound regardless of what source. This proprietary circuit corrects the non-linear impedances of the drivers, restoring proper interaction with the source and preserving the desired sound signature. 64 Audio's fiercely popular U4s features an ergonomic Aluminum shell, a Dynamic driver, x2 BAs, and a patented Tia driver, enhanced by custom 64A Tia, LID, and Apex technology for precision and clarity. A 4-way crossover with a proprietary low-pass filter minimizes distortion, while apex modules and ear tips allow for sound customization.

Tune Your Sound

The included Apex Modules and Eartips each have different sonic characteristics. You can use different combinations to accentuate different aspects of U4s' sound.

mX Module
Widest imaging with a reduction in noise isolation. Sub-bass response is diminished, giving you the ability to attenuate to your preferences based on music type and mix. It is ideally used for recordings that do not capture much sub-bass content while containing a lot of spatial information.

m12 Gold Module (*Not included with U4s)
Developed for those who feel the bass drop between m15 and mX is too drastic. Perfect for tracks where the bass is slightly overpowering the rest of the spectrum. Increases mid-range punch (reduction by 1db-4db at 130hz-20hz.)

m15 Module
The m15 module strikes the perfect balance between bass attenuation and isolation, featuring dual ambient ports that are larger than the single port in the m20. With -15dB isolation and an additional -4dB reduction at 20Hz compared to the m20, it offers a more open, natural listening experience while still maintaining effective noise control.

m20 Module
Greatly increases sub-bass response while keeping the mid-bass clean. Works great for overly bright mixes as it tilts the response towards low end. While
this module shrinks the sound-stage width, it works great for synth-heavy or modern pop music that doesn’t contain much acoustic spatial information. The m20 module also unlocks some of the missing sub information in older rock recordings (increase by 1db-2db at 40hz-20hz.)

Foam Tips
Narrows the mix and shifts HF resonant peak down. More secure fit.

Spinfit
Shifts HF resonant peak up. Best at handling microphonics and occlusion effects. The nozzle is decoupled well from the silicone touching the ear canal.

Wide Nozzle
Staging is less localized with better panning blend. Hits target frequency response curve with m15 module.

Each ergonomic shell is machined out of a solid piece of Aluminum and finished with an elegant brushed Aluminum faceplate.

Tia

The tia system is comprised of 3 major elements: open Balanced Armature tia drivers, tia single-bore design, and tia acoustic chambers.

Tia Driver
Open Balanced Armature speaker design for realistic resolution and transparency. By opening a Balanced Armature, the diaphragm becomes fully unobstructed, reducing resonance in the IEM and allowing sound to travel more naturally to the ear.

Tia Single Bore
A huge advancement in eliminating unwanted tube resonance. The large bore itself serves as a sound-shaping chamber and aids the tia high driver in delivering a linear and coherent frequency response. The short sound path provides remarkable high-frequency extension and smoothness. The large single bore also allows for easier maintenance.

Apex

Apex (Air Pressure Exchange) is a pneumatically interactive sealed vent that releases air pressure in the ear canal. Apex comes in 4 variations:

• m20 (-20dB)
• m15 (-15dB)
• m12 (-12dB)
• mX (-10dB)

Alleviate Listener Fatigue
When you seal a miniature speaker in an ear canal, the air inside becomes trapped. Apex relieves this pressure, allowing the eardrum to move naturally so you can comfortably listen longer.

Extend The Soundstage
Freely moving air extends the soundstage and provides a more natural listening experience. It also preserves bass frequencies and helps the listener distinguish individual instruments.

Redefining “full-range sound” in portable high-end audio, the Solo delivers the entire sonic spectrum with a single 14.2mm planar driver. As the culmination of 64 Audio’s legendary Tia® UIEM line, it draws inspiration from the innovative legacy of Fourté, Trio, and Duo. To tackle the challenge of tuning a single driver, 64 Audio introduced a traditional electronic filter alongside the world’s first Helmholtz resonator in an IEM.

Paired with their patented LID technology, these breakthroughs are housed in 64 Audio’s most striking design since the Fourté's 2016 debut. Sound

Solo upholds 64 Audio's commitment to accuracy, musicality, and balance while introducing new planar driver technology. Planar Magnetic Driver

The planar magnetic driver uses a flat diaphragm with embedded conductors suspended between magnets, unlike traditional dynamic drivers with a conical diaphragm and voice coil. This uniform movement delivers detailed micro-transients typically requiring a dedicated high-frequency driver, ensuring reliable, high-resolution full-range sound from a single driver.

Technology

Helmholtz Resonators
To redefine Planar Magnetic technology, 64 Audio combined a subtle high-frequency reduction with targeted attenuation of narrow frequency bands. Leveraging years of research into Helmholtz resonators, they integrated two 3D-printed micro-cavities into Solo’s sound chamber. These cavities resonate at specific frequencies, precisely tuned to amplify or diminish problematic tones for a cleaner, more refined sound.

LID
Linear Impedance Design (LID) is a patented circuit that corrects non-linear resistance caused by Solo’s shelf filter. It compensates for variations in source output impedance, ensuring consistent frequency response across devices like smartphones, DAC/amps, and DAPs, preserving the intended sound signature.

Apex® Core
The Solo features 64 Audio’s patented Apex® core technology, enhancing fidelity and spatial accuracy while providing exceptional comfort. With a design similar to the Duo, it offers just enough isolation for focused listening while feeling open and unoccluded. Copper 8-Braid Cable

Solo is being paired with 64 Audio's first pure copper cable. The OCC Copper, which is 23 x 25 AWG Wires, is built into 8 braids with a pleasant tactile feel as well as an impressively low 0.26Ω impedance rating. Solo comes standard with two of these cables, one SE 3.5mm and one balanced 4.4mm.

Rather than constricting the sound of the drivers by fitting a tube onto them, Duo’s complete Tia System reduces unwanted resonance and distortion by allowing the 9mm Dynamic Driver + Tia High Driver to radiate freely into the single large Tia bore with no obstructions to the front of the drivers.

apex® core
Apex Core is a deeper understanding of air movement within an earphone system. Duo’s faceplate features a striking perforated grill that leaves the shell of the IEM open to the outside atmosphere for a less obstructed airflow resulting in an effortless reproduction of music and minimal physical fatigue.

wave sync
Due to the high crossover point between the two drivers, Wave Sync was developed to ensure coherence; another industry first. By using a type of “all-pass” filter, we’re able to introduce a crossover while correcting for time without having to change the physical distance between the drivers.
