The material selected for the HB1 case was created by Synt3, a world-class manufacturer of polyurethane located in Milan, Italy. Advanced Quad-brid Design and Ultra-refined Cross-over Network

The AK ZERO2 is an IEM that features a “Quad-brid” design centered around an advanced driver array and Super Low Noise Cross-Over Network perfectly tuned. Four different types of driver, including Custom BA Drivers, a Planar Dynamic Driver, a 10-mm Dynamic Driver, and a Piezoelectric Transducer create the perfect synergy, coming together to form the Quad-brid AK ZERO2 capable of reproducing the pure sounds that Astell&Kern strives to deliver.

Crisp and Dynamic Treble Sound
The Micro Rectangular Planar Dynamic Driver is a driver specifically developed to deliver high frequencies, featuring advanced technology that allows a planar driver to be used in IEMs, despite the extreme difficulty in making it small enough to fit in such a small cavity.

We selected a light yet sturdy planar membrane to minimize frequency loss and applied a trembler with a thin metal membrane and polymer film to create lifelike vivid high frequencies. This provides a clear and dynamic high frequency response.

Transparent Vocal sound
The Coil Parameter Dual Custom BA Driver is a custom-made driver designed to reproduce both full-range and mid- to low-range frequencies. It comes with a total of four drivers: two BA drivers that offer ultra-low distortion to create clear low- to mid-ranged vocal sounds and two BA drivers that offer perfectly balanced rich sounds, uniquely tuned to harmonize each frequency range, playing perfect sounds.

The Deepest Bass and Clear Treble Sound
Various types of carefully designed drivers create rich, Hi-Fi sounds. The 10-mm dynamic driver used in the AK ZERO2 is meticulously manufactured using a fully automated process. This allows the driver to recreate rich and deep low frequencies. An additional piezoelectric transducer works in tandem with the dynamic driver, serving as a super tweeter that asserts its presence in the super-high frequency range that many IEMs struggle to recreate.

Super-Low-Noise Cross-Over Network

One Driver, Perfected

Created through a collaboration between Astell&Kern and MADOO, LUNA features a newly developed Unipolar Micro Planar Magnetic driver, named Katabiki (片響). Inspired by dynamic drivers, this driver adopts a unique unipolar magnetic circuit and is designed with a strong focus on resonance characteristics.

The diaphragm housing is precisely CNC-machined from aluminum, ensuring high rigidity of the driver body. It utilizes an ultra-thin, lightweight film with a printed aluminum pattern, reducing the diaphragm's weight. The magnetic circuit uses a powerful single magnet and a dual ring-shaped yoke to achieve excellent magnetic flux control.

In 2016, Audeze was approached by researchers at the UCLA Semel Institute of Neuroscience and Human behavior along with the industrial designers at BoomBang for help designing a headphone to work inside MRI machines.

Solid Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) Conductors

Since the beginning, AudioQuest has pioneered the use of superior metals, surprising even themselves by the huge leap in performance attained through the astonishingly smooth and pure surface of Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC). Proprietary metal-processing technology protects the wire's surface at every stage of drawing and fabrication. When high-purity low-oxide copper is kept as soft, pure, and smooth as possible, it becomes a wonderfully low-distortion conductor. In a conventional cable, electrical and magnetic interaction between strands is one of the greatest sources of distortion, often causing a somewhat harsh, dirty sound. Solid conductors are fundamental toward achieving a very clean, natural sound.

Metal-Layer Noise Dissipation

It's easy to accomplish 100% shield coverage. Preventing captured radio-frequency interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment's ground reference requires AQ's noise dissipation. Traditional shield systems typically absorb and then drain noise / RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical "reference" ground plane, which in turn causes a distortion of the signal. Noise dissipation "shields the shield," absorbing and reflecting most of this noise / RF energy before it reaches the layer attached to ground.

Triple-balanced Geometry (Separate Ground-reference Conductor)

AQ's Triple-Balanced Geometry uses a separate ground-reference conductor, so the cable's shield is never used as an inferior conductor. Whether prepared with RCA or XLR plugs, the cable's 3 conductors ensure that the positive and negative signals have equally superior, low-distortion conducting paths.

Cold-welded, Gold-plated Terminations

This plug design allows for a connection devoid of solder, a common source of distortion. Instead of solder, the process employs a high-pressure technique. Because the ground shells are stamped instead of machined, the metal used can be chosen for low distortion instead of machinability.

Solid Perfect-surface Copper + (PSC+) Conductors

Solid conductors prevent electrical and magnetic strand-interaction. PSC+ Solid-Copper minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries and maximizes linear RF Noise-Dissipation.

Double Star-quad Geometry

The relationship between conductors defines a cable's most basic electrical values (capacitance and inductance). However, even when those variables are kept in reasonably neutral balance, the particular geometric relationship between conductors greatly affects the sound. Star-Quad geometry is not only vastly superior to conductors run in parallel, but also to the same conductors as two twisted pairs.

Dielectric-Bias System with Radio Frequency Trap

All insulation between two or more conductors is also a dielectric whose properties will affect the integrity of the signal. When the dielectric is unbiased, dielectric-involvement (absorption and non-linear release of energy) causes different amounts of time delay (phase shift) for different frequencies and energy levels, which is a real problem for very time-sensitive multi-octave audio. The inclusion of an RF Trap (developed for AudioQuest’s Niagara Series of power products), ensures that radio-frequency noise will not be induced into the signal conductors from the DBS field elements. (DBS, US Pat #s 7,126,055 & 7,872,195 B1)

Carbon-based Noise and Crosstalk-dissipation System

This cable's negative conductors are covered with partially conductive Carbon-Loaded Polyethylene. This remarkable material reduces radio-frequency garbage being fed back into the amplifier. The sonic benefit is exactly the same reduction in "hash" and improved dimensionality that comes whenever RF interference is reduced in an audio circuit. In addition, a carbon layer damps interaction between positive and negative conductors, and an external Carbon-Based Noise-Dissipation System reduces external interference.

Foamed-polyethylene Insulation (For All Positive Conductors)

Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. This cable, however, uses air-filled Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation on both conductors. Because air absorbs next to no energy and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile, Foamed-PE, with its high air content, causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials.

Ideal for Full-range or Single-BiWire Configurations

Use Rocket 88 as a full-range cable, with red (+) and black (-) conductors grouped together, or, when the speakers provide separate bass and treble inputs, further optimize system performance by bi-wiring.

HA-2SE+

The HA-2SE was one of the best-selling devices from the Auris product range which launched Auris Audio to the very top of the world when it comes to the headphone amplifiers. After many years of “flow”, the company stopped producing this particular amp in the end of 2019.

The HA-2SE gets its successor that will have similar basis and price range but with a lot of improvements and additions compared to its predecessor. As the main feature, it is adorned with a balanced input and output.

Amplifier

Auris HA-2SE + is a balanced single-ended headphone amplifier. The lineup of tubes is classic Auris, with the use of four 7-pin Ei PL95 pentode power NOS (new old stock) tubes, which are the equivalent to 6DL5, and a single ECC81 dual-triode input tube, also known like 12AT7.

Transformers are the essence of quality, and therefore products of Auris Audio contain only manually wound transformers on a double C core produced by Auris Audio. Every single transformer is manufactured in compliance with strictly defined requirements, thus providing almost a linear characteristic in the whole acoustic/sound range.

Design

On the front panel, from left to right, you have the On/Off Switch, input line selector, and 4-pin XLR balanced output. In the middle is the main volume control knob and right next to it is the 6.3 mm single ended headphone output. On the right side is the Headphone inpedance selector at 50/150/300/600 Ohm.

On the top of the unit you have the five tubes (4 x PL95 and 1 x ECC81) that are centered on the design and they’re protected with a little grill, separating them from the controls.

On the back of the unit from left to right you can find the XLR and two RCA inputs, as well the pre output. In the middle is the Tube EL 95 or PL 95 switch. On the right side is the input voltage selector, power cord inlet and the On/Off switch.

Impedance Selector

To make your headphones shine at their best, Auris Audio designed the HA-2SE+ with an impedance switch, which allows you to select 50/150/300/600 Ohm according to the type of your headphones.

Tubes

Vacuum tubes used in Auris Audio products are subject to individual testing and internal inspection, so that only selected and match-paired tubes of the best features are incorporated in our products.

The Auris HA2-SE of course is a tube amp and it uses four PL95 or EL95 power tubes together with an ECC81 input tube. The EL and PL95 tubes can both be used in the amplifier and you only have to flick the switch on the back as these tubes have different heater ratings.
